JAPANESE WHISKY
Having long produced alcohol, principally from rice, the Japanese first discover whisky in 1853 with the arrival of American Commodore Matthew Perry in Tokyo Bay. At the end of the 19th Century, several Japanese companies already attempt to produce this spirit, but the first trials made from rice or corn ar unsuccessful.

Nika Coffey Malt 45% alc. vol.
The Nikka Coffey Malt is the result of a unique distillation process in "Coffey" type column stills, which are normally used for grain whisky production. This rare 100% malt bottling offers a surprisingly texture with deep oaky notes.

Nose: Citrus, pear and latte coffee.
Palate: Hazelnut chocolate, rum pastry and vanilla cream.

Nika Coffey Grain Malt 45% alc. vol.
An essential component of the house blends, the Nikka Coffey Grain is an original single grain whisky, distilled mainly from corn in a Coffey still. Exotic, fruity and unique, it is meant for the connoisseur in search of an unconventional whisky.
Style: Smooth and fruity.
Nose: Exotic fruits, citrus, floral.
Palate: Ripe fruits, rum (banana) and caramel.

Nika Pure Malt Black 43% alc. vol.
With its subtle balance of fruit and refined peat notes, the Nikka Pure MAlt Black offers a rare complexity. Its aromatic depth is the result of a selection of very different whiskies, combining the fruity elegance of the Miyagikyo malts, and the smokier notes typical of Yoichi.

The Matsui Sakura Cask is a whiskey distilled in the Japanese prefecture of Tottori and matured in cherry wood barrels, which is brought to drinking strength with spring water from the Mount Daisen volcano.
TASTING NOTES
THE MATSUI SAKURA CASK is a SINGLE MALT WHISKEY distilled and aged in Japan. It smells pleasantly of malt and freshly distilled whiskey. On the palate it shows a subtle, fine aroma of sweet cherry blossoms and a long finish.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
The traditional brewery MATSUI SHUZO, founded in 1910 and located on the Japanese island of Honshu, for a long time only sold sake and shochu - Japanese rice wine and brandy. The basic spirits for the whiskeys, which have enjoyed great popularity for some time, are distilled and matured in Japan or imported from Scotland and refined on site, depending on the line. MATSUI SHUZO's products are only available in limited quantities.
